This Privacy Policy explains how Hookline (“Hookline,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our website and application. By using Hookline, you agree to the practices described here.

Who we are

Hookline is a software product used to create TikTok scripts. The marketing site lives at gohookline.com and the application at app.gohookline.com. For any privacy question or request, contact us at hello@gohookline.com.

What data we collect

• Account information. Your email address and name, provided through our authentication provider (Clerk) when you sign up or sign in.
• Brand context and topics. The brand details, topics, and preferences you enter to tailor your scripts.
• Voice profiles. The TikTok creator handles you add, and the voice analysis we generate from their public content.
• Generated scripts. The scripts and variants you generate, finalize, and save in the app.
• Usage data. Basic product and analytics data — pages visited, features used, and similar diagnostics — to improve the service.
• Payment information. Billing is handled by Dodo Payments as our Merchant of Record. We do not collect or store your full card details; Dodo processes payments and shares limited billing metadata (such as plan and subscription status) with us.

How we use your data

• To provide, operate, and maintain the service.
• To analyze voice patterns and generate scripts in the style you request.
• To process subscriptions, trials, and billing.
• To provide support and respond to your requests.
• To improve and secure the product, and to comply with our legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your private brand context or generated scripts to train third-party AI models beyond what is needed to produce your results.

Sub-processors

We rely on the following third-party services to operate Hookline. Each processes only the data needed for its function, under its own privacy terms:

• Clerk — authentication and account management.
• Neon — database hosting.
• Apify — collecting publicly available TikTok content for analysis.
• Anthropic and OpenAI — AI processing to analyze voice and generate scripts.
• Dodo Payments — billing and payments, as Merchant of Record.
• Resend — transactional and product email.
• PostHog — product analytics.
• Vercel — application and website hosting.

A note on TikTok data

Hookline analyzes publicly available content from TikTok creators that you specifically choose, in order to learn voice and style patterns. We do not claim ownership of any creator’s content, and we do not access private or non-public data. Creators’ original content remains theirs. You are responsible for how you use the scripts you generate.

Data retention

We keep your account data, brand context, voice profiles, and generated scripts for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account or specific content, we remove the associated data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain limited records to comply with legal, accounting, or security obligations.

Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing hello@gohookline.com. We will respond to verified requests within the timeframes required by applicable law.

Cookies and analytics

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to operate the service, and limited analytics (via PostHog) to understand how the product is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling them may affect functionality.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use of Hookline after changes take effect means you accept the revised policy.
