Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Hookline (the “Service,” “Hookline,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

Hookline is an AI-powered tool that generates short-form video scripts. You add TikTok creators by handle; we analyze their publicly available content to learn voice and style patterns, and generate scripts about your topics in a similar style. Scripts are AI-generated suggestions — you are responsible for reviewing, editing, and deciding how to use them.

2. Accounts

You are responsible for the activity under your account and for keeping your login credentials secure. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use. We use Clerk for authentication.

3. Subscriptions, free trial, and billing

• Free trial. Plans start with a 7-day free trial. A payment method is required to begin the trial.
• Billing. If you do not cancel before the trial ends (before day 8), your subscription begins and your payment method is charged the plan price. Subscriptions then renew automatically each month until cancelled.
• Merchant of Record. Payments are processed by Dodo Payments, our Merchant of Record. Your purchase is also subject to Dodo’s terms, and applicable taxes may be added.
• Cancellation. You can cancel anytime from your account or by emailing hello@gohookline.com. Access continues until the end of the paid period. See our Refund Policy.
• Price changes. We may change plan pricing; we’ll give reasonable notice before changes affect your renewals.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any illegal or infringing purpose.
• Abuse, overload, scrape, or attempt to circumvent the limits of the generation or analysis features.
• Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the Service or access to it without our written permission.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or its infrastructure.
• Use the Service to harass, impersonate, defame, or mislead others.

5. Intellectual property

• Your scripts. As between you and Hookline, you own the scripts you generate and are free to use them for your content.
• Our platform. Hookline owns the Service, including its software, design, and brand. These Terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service.
• Creator content. Original content belongs to the creators who made it. Hookline analyzes public content to identify style patterns; it does not transfer ownership of any creator’s content to you.
• Your responsibility. You are solely responsible for how you use generated scripts, including ensuring your use complies with applicable laws and platform rules.

6. Disclaimers

The Service and all AI-generated output are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that scripts will perform, go viral, drive results, or be free of errors. You use the Service and its output at your own discretion and risk.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hookline will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or revenues. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim arose.

8. Termination

You may stop using the Service and cancel at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or use the Service in a way that risks harm to others or to the Service. On termination, your right to use the Service ends.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When changes are material, we’ll update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.
